Question Can A do-it-yourselfer clean the Coil on an AC Unit?

I have central AC in my home (Dave Lennox signature AC unit), and I was told it would cost $300 to have the coil cleaned. I'm talking about the coil attached to the top of the ac unit that is in the basement of the house. The coil is surrounded by a metal housing and is approx 20 x 20. I can see where the screws can be removed to expose the coil. Can I clean the coil myself? Or is this something only a professional should attempt?

Thanks!

Yes you can do it yourself. Go to Youtube and watch some AC coil cleaning videos.
