Dehumidification

Hi All,I have recently been in Fla. in different condo's and noticed humidistats installed near the Tstat's and am wondering if they might be somehow connected into the AC units to control humidity.

Thoughts!

If talking about controlling cooling humidity, it would be dehumidistats.

Possibly they are, but with out know how they are wired and or what they are wired to then it is just speculation.

They are for seasonal residents. When they are not staying there for long periods of time they use the humidistat to help control mold but to keep the electric bill low. All it does is cycle the A/C when the humidity gets too high.
