2nd Stage Cooling

My A/C system is not a 2-stage system, but I would like to use my 2-stage-capable tstat for fan control. Specifically, for humidity and efficiency purposes I want the fan to start in medium speed for 3 or 4 minutes and then increase to high. Sooo... if I set the cooling speed to MEDIUM can I use the Y2 wire to accomplish this by somehow wiring that to the fan's HIGH setting? My concern is that when the tstat calls for 2nd stage cooling and sends power to the Y2 wire, wouldn't that cause the fan to receive both a medium AND high speed signal and damage the motor:NO NO NO:? Or is there another inexpensive way to accomplish this?

We need a lot more info to be able to help you.... Typically what you are trying to do is not feasible in the way you are trying to do it.

Make and model numbers of all equipment?

Air handler: Trane 2TEC3F36B1000AA; tstat: Venstar T1800.
Since I posted this, I found a video that shows how to accomplish it, but it was disjointed and not very well explained. It involves using a relay that activates medium fan speed for stage 1 cooling, and high speed for stage 2. Here's the link: 2 Stage Fan Relay - YouTube.

The video has a 2 stage compressor. You do not have a 2 stage compressor.
