York AC unit with run and start caps

My York AC unit is about 22 years old and it has separate run and start caps. When the compression starts up it makes a groaning sound. I'm thinking the start cap is starting to fail. I'd like to get a new one but I can't read the label. Can I use a hard start kit rather than buying a new cap?

Thanks!
Bill

Nope, and the run cap may not be bad.

Hard starts only stay in the circuit for < 1 second to get the compressor going - run caps stay in the circuit.

I would expect a 22 year old compressor to be noisy on startup.
