Central AC condensate drain flooding my side yard
I have a 6 year old Carrier unit in a 1100sq ft home. The last few days I've noticed the PVC pipe outside my home has a really steady drip coming out and realized when I mowed the grass that's it's soaking the whole area of grass. I went up in the attic and it looks like my AC is pretty much constantly dripping water into the pan underneath and draining to the outside like it should.
After doing some research, it seems I may have TWO drain lines and the pan (secondary) is being used because the primary into the sewage system may be clogged. Does that sound accurate? There are two pipes coming out of it, one going to an unknown location and the other going from the pan to the outside. The outside pipe has never dripped and the pan never had water in it till about a week ago. I noticed the alleged primary drain has a small PVC "tap" with an opening where you could either pour something in or attach a vacuum. Is it safe to vacuum the primary drain since it is likely clogged then pour bleach water in? Is a vacuum dangerous for that primary drain for any reason? What is my best option? Thanks!

Never mind. I went ahead and vacuumed out both of my drain lines and the dripping outside stopped. There was a lot of "muddy" water in the main one... a lot of water (period). I also added some good bleach water to it. Thanks anyway!

GOOD JOB!!! The condensate should never go into the secondary, but it did it's job and kept a flood from happening and the secondary drain line also notified you that there was a problem present because you noticed the water. I wish most homeowners were as diligent as you were in discovering and correcting a simple problem.
