Question Blower motor sometimes starts

Hi,
I am working with a Fedders model number A6Q10F2A window AC. I use the unit for each night when I sleep (it 7-10 years old).

I replaced the capacitor since the blower motor was rarely coming on when I started the unit.

Now the AC works OK, and cools great for about 5 or 6 days and then the blower motor will not come on for one or two days. The unit just hums when I turn it on. Usually about the third night the blower does come on, its good for another 5 or 6 days again.

I have tried just letting it sit for a few minutes to an hour or two on the nights it will not start, but the waiting does no good. It just hums.

This cycle has been repeating for the last 2 months.

Any ideas?

I appreciate any help that can be offered.

It could be the motor is getting old and needs extra power to start the rotation at times. Check if the shaft is hard to rotate, lubricate or replace it.

Some good advice from gsistore.

The capacitor may also have gone bad again.
