A/C unit is blowing cool air outside from the fan and hot air inside the house
I try to be as handy as i can. I try to fix all i can. But i need a little direction in order to fix. My husband is currently in afgahnastan and useless.
I came home from a three day vacation to a house that was 98 degrees. THe unit was set at 75 it was switching on and off but when on was blowing hot air into the house. I turned it off let it cool and turned it back on no such luck. The fan is working and turning. the lines coming off the unit are both no change in temp after being ran for an hour.
any help would be greatful. I just changed the capacitor 6 months ago.

I'm trying to hold my tongue on this one...but just because he's oversees does not make him "useless"...while you're on a 3-day vacation. lol.

When you say the fan is running, do you mean the air handler (blower), or the condensor fan (fan at top of outside unit), or both? If the blower is running, but nothing is running on the outside unit (condensor fan or compressor), it could be the contactor (relay that turns outside unit on/off based on thermostat setting). There are usually two capacitors, one for the condensor fan and another for the compressor. Sometimes they are combined into a multiple capacitor unit. With a little more information, we can try to help you narrow it down a little.
