Enclosing attic installed air handlers

Has anyone noticed an appreciable difference in comfort, mold buildup within the unit / and or power consumption after enclosing an attic air handler within a rigid foam insulation box ? I'm tossing around the idea of spray foaming the attic
( very expensive ) but someone mentioned that using rigid foam board around the unit works just as well. I have two air handlers in the attic. I felt this would help both in the cooling and heating seasons. Thoughts, Ideas or experience ? Thanks as always.

I think the disadvantages (poorer access and heat build-up) would negate any advantages. I would not do it.
