AC only stays cool a minute then pumps warm lukewarm asir...

My central ac isn't working properly. It isnt making any strange noise, just isnt circulating cold air after about a minute. Any ideas on what I could look for before calling hvac? The outside fan is working and it is circulating air its just warm air. Are there other major components to central air besides the outdoor fan? Im new to this and not even sure what the whole system consists of?

Also, can the outer fan be replaced and just hooked up to new fan or is it much lengthier process?

typically there is an outdoor unit and an indoor unit. Some systems combine both units into 1 large unit that has ducts that run into the house. A split system (the first I described) will have a large insulated copper line and smaller non-insulated line that both go from the outdoor unit to the indoor unit. The large line should be cool/cold and the small line should be warm/hot when the system is operating.
