A/C unit fixed! -Thanks to this forum!
Recently my A/C condenser quit running for no apparent reason. Having a fair amount of mechanical experience and plenty of tools, I did the first thing anyone should do: consult doityourself.com !
After searching thru a bunch of threads that sounded real similar to my problem, I did the 'fan spin w/ stick' test, (it started) and tested the Contactor (it functioned fine) and came to the conclusion that the Capacitor was worth a gamble on replacing.
A trip to the nearby CC Dickson Supply and I had a new $10.08 capacitor. Installed it and it's ran fine ever since.
FYI for rookies like me: If the top of the capacitor is 'bulged' up like this one, it's bad. It should be flat across the top.

I'd like to offer a big thank you to the huge bank of knowledge that contributes to this forum. What a great resource of information! I can't thank you enough.

I learned about the capacitor from this great forum too. You should look into Hard Start Kit for your capacitor. Also, keep in mind that the blower also has a capacitor too if you ever run into trouble in the future.
