blower motor cutting out intermittent in cooling phase

I have a WeatherKing airhandler that the blower motor is cutting out intermittently. As it runs cutting out gets less frequent. Elec connections are sound. Fan runs perfect in heat mode. Doesn't seem effected by vibrations of motor either way. Same fan speeds for heat and cool cycles. Model# 80pj07ebr01

Relay on control board bad? 1k sqft home, all gas, 100amp service. Only 220 appliance is condensor. I shut power to condenser in cool mode to see if problem with breaker box, still cutting out.

Is the return air filter clean? It could be tripping the overheat sensor.

Cool phase only. Happens w access door open. Runs perfect in heat phase. It actually gets less frequent longer fan runs.

Bad high speed winding in the motor could still be causing it to trip on high heat.

It is in cool phase only, performs perfect in heat phase.

The motor runs at a higher speed when in the cooling cycle. It is possible the higher speed winding is faulty and causing the motor to overheat.

It starts going away after about 1min or 2. I will wire slower speed and see. If still cutting out then control board?

Gas heating units are usually referred to as furnaces and electric heat units are air handlers.

Air handlers often run the same fan speed for heating and cooling but gas furnaces almost always run a higher fan speed in cooling.

I'd measure the capacitor and verify that the motor is getting voltage before considering replacing the control board. It is just as likely to be the motor as the board.

The amperage reading of the motor in low and high speed would be valuable data for trouble shooting this problem.

Have you checked the fan motor bearings? Bearings can cause mechanical binding when cold that improves or goes away as they warm up.
