Need help for Wiring Lux TX9600TS thermostat 2-stage heating / 1-stage cooling

I replaced our old thermostat with the Lux TX9600TS. I followed the wiring diagram in the instructions and the heater works correctly. We just switched the thermostat over to cool and now every time it kicks on the AC the heater is running not the AC. I have checked the wiring again and everything is connected correctly. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forums.

Your post in this forum is sufficient and will be seen.

You haven't told us much about your system. Usually we ask you to post where what colors were on which terminals and the type of thermostat.

Is this a heatpump that is coming on in heat instead of A/C ?

The system is a Payne Heating and Cooling system. Not sure of the model but pretty sure it is not a Heat Pump. The previous thermostat was an old Honeywell I believe. Wiring from both below.

Old Wiring:
Green - G
Yellow - y
Red - R
Orange - W2
White - W1
Black - C
There were also a Blue and brown wire but not connected.

Lux Wiring:
Green - G
Yellow - y
Red - RH - Jumper between RH and RC
Orange - W2
White - W1
Black - C
