A/C Filters

Hey everyone,

My Lennox EB29m-31-1p looks like it is missing an air filter. In the highlighted section in the picture (at the bottom of the unit) when I removed that access panel, it sure looks like a filter goes there, but there isn't one.

I have an intake filter in my house, and I wasn't sure if the one on the handler was removed because I already had one in the house.

Should I install a filter there? Would this cause damage to the unit, over time, quicker then having a filter installed?

If you have a filter in each return air grille (or the only return grille) you do not need one at the furnace proper.
