Air Conditioner is cooling too much?

Last week My AC started cooling too much than thermostat settings. The Thermostat was set for 76 but the room temperature wen to 70. Thinking about bad Thermostat, changed it with a new Honeywell RTH6500.The problem continued, called a mechanic who changed the condenser contactor. Still my room Temperature is coming down to 70 to the thermostat setting of 77 !.
This is in the first floor thermostat .Second floor thermostat is working perfectly.

The problem should still be either T-stat or contactor, you need to call that AC mechanic back.

Unit is off but still has heat coming out of the vents (no fan or comp blowing

When I turn on the breakers in the breaker box to turn on the pwr to the window heater/ac, I hear a beep and immediately have heat coming out of the vents. No fan or compressor is running and the unit has not had the on/off switch turned on. When I do turn on the the unit by pressing the on/off switch, the AC mode light is on, fan is now blowing and you can hear the compressor running. I get cool air but within a minute, it blows hot air. In the heater mode and running, after being on for several minutes, you shut it off by the switch but the unit stays on. Fans still blowing and uncontrolled heat continues to blow until I shut off the breakers. I've beat the sides, top and bottom of the unit in the off position. Turned it on, and still have the same problems. The unit is out of warranty by about a year now and the unit is 5 years old. I've contacted service techs in the area, but everyone of them wont come to the house to look and repair nor will they come to the house to remove the unit to take back with them to repair. Why??? I'm Clueless. I'm too old to remove the unit myself and live in the country, so I've decided to get involved with this forum for assistance and trouble shoot this Frigidaire myself. New contactor?

I just got done replacing my Contactor and Capacitor. Capacitor was pretty straight forward, but I have a quick question on the contactor connections. The original stock part's main 4 connectors were marked L1/L3/T1/T3 and 2 unmarked connectors on each side. The new replacement part looks very similar but the 4 main connections are flipped and are marked L1/L2/T1/T2 and the same 2 side connectors, but they are marked A1/A2. Am I correct in moving connectors L1 to L1, L3 to L2, T1 to T1 and L3 to L2? Also, since the L & T connector locations are swapped, I swapped the 2 side connectors A1/A2. It seems to run properly, doesn't seem as noisy but has a rhythmic hum that I never noticed before.Read More
