Help with 2 split AC systems
I have an upstairs and downstairs unit. Each with its own thermostat. It's a RUDD achiever series.
The upstairs air handler is running (verified by eyes and feeling from the vents). It's outside condenser is not running, fan or compressor. I have 240Vac (verified by multimeter) power up to the contactor but the contactor is not closing. The control board does have 27Vac. The control board is delivering 27Vac to the contactor's coil when the thermostat is set to cool. The board doesn't seem to be working properly though cause it has a chart for the 2 LEDs on it. Neither is lit which means no power. I'm wondering if the 27Vac has a full return path for current.
The downstairs air handler is not working (only verified by feeling from the vents, it's under the house and didn't feel like going under there). The 240Vac is there for the condenser but once again the contactor is not pulling in. There is a difference though because there is no 27Vac going to the control board. I figured it might be a thermostat issue. The LED status is the same too.
The upstair system's condenser model is UPNE-036JAZ. I'll get the other model if necessary. It is very similar.
New info: The downstairs thermostat actually has no control power. I was tricked because the batteries were still powering the display.

Welcome to the forums.
You may have tripped a high or low pressure switch.
Try turning the air handler inside off for thirty seconds to reset defrost board.
Turn back on, make sure thermostat is calling for cooling. The compressor may take up to five minutes to start operating.
