Air conditioner hasn't worked 3 of the last 5 years, bad evaporation coil

Hi, I hope somebody can help me with the problem I'm having. We moved into our house 5 years ago. Three of those years, we have had a problem with our air conditioner not working. The previous two time they have replaced the evaporator coils. We are having the same problem today.
The part of the puzzle that concerns me is the air conditioner. It is HUGE. I was told the previous owners had a new ac unit installed and the company they used ordered the wrong unit. The owners were told that they could keep the huge one since it wouldn't hurt anything to use it, plus they would have to wait a few days to get the correct one.
I can't believe we are just unlucky to have 3 bad evap coils in 5 years. Is there anything I can check to see if the evap coils and the air conditioner are mismatched? I need something I can tell the outfit that installed the unit so they realize they screwed up.

Please help, I can get an info about the coil or ac unit if requested.

Yea, we would need model# to help you. Three bad coils is very unusual . I don't think bad luck has any thing to do with this. What were the symtoms when the unit stopped working? Was the coil leaking? Did they try adding some refrigerant?

Welcome to the forums.

It has little do with luck. It sounds like it's time for a new A/C company.

What is happening with the coils.... are they leaking ?

Call someone else. Lol at unit being too big so just keep it lol. That right there sent warning chills up and down my spine.
