A/C Blows Warm Air When Outside Temp Rises

I have an American Standard a/c installed in 2005, Model 2A7A2048A1.

The compressor cools our home fine until the temperature outside rises into the 90s. Then the compressor stops but the fan on the unit continues to run but no cold air. When the outside temp lowers into the 80s the compressor comes on and cools the home fine. This starts happening around 3 pm and ends about 8pm. I had a new capacitor installed but I am still experiencing the same problem. PLEASE HELP!

Just to clarify, does the air handler (inside blower) keep running, but the outside unit (compressor/condenser) shuts off? When the A/C is running (and cooling), is the condenser fan (fan on outside unit) running? When the A/C stops cooling, is anything on the outside unit running? The outside unit contains both the compressor and the condenser fan.

It could be over charged and jumping out on the high pressure switch. Does it run in short cycles or stays off for hours until it cools down outside?

Compressor is going off on thermal overloads. Suction pressure is low. Maybe low on refrigerant.

I recommend rinsing the condenser coil. It may be very dirty.
