At a loss finding manufacturer and technical manual

Hi everyone. My AC unit has recently had a bit of a hiccup and I want to try fixing it myself. However, I just CANNOT for the life of me find who actually build or installed the damn thing (it was done by the previous owners, who were gracious enough to leave us no manuals.) Since it's installed above a stairwell, I would really feel a lot more comfortable having more information before I start removing anything past the front cover.

I was hoping someone might recognize the model and help point me in the right direction. There no logos, no names and the information on it hasn't really been helpful in my google search.

Here is the unit in question

The information on the side

The remote control - it seems like a generic one, so I have no idea if it will actually help.

Thanks everyone!

Welcome to the forums!

Is there a name on the outside unit? They are normally installed in pairs.

That may be a unit only sold in Canada and we won't find any info here when we search.

I don't recognize it and the model number shows no hits.

There is not. I honestly have never seen seen anything quite like it. It has no logo or name anywhere.

There should be no danger to remove the outside cover as long as you disconnect the power. There should be a name someplace on the inside.
