Thermostat White-Rogers model 1F82-51 keeps resetting program to default program
This has happened in the last 2 places I have lived... I have programmed temperatures and times on my thermostat but they are being reset randomly. Instead of 68* 10pm - 8am I end up getting 85* while I try to sleep... This happened 4 times in 3 hours yesterday...
My thermostat is a White-Rogers, model 1F82-51.
This is an older system, its barely digital. All it has is just the display for the temp/time/day of week, switches for heat/cool/fan on/fan auto and real physical buttons to set temp/set program/view program/run program. There are no batteries inside the thermostat (that I have seen), there is no remote for this system and it does not show any error messages.
I have set a specific day/time program that changes the temp when that time rolls around. However that is being cleared out and replaced with the factory settings... I don't want to be hitting "hold" all the time, that defeats the point of the program... How can I fix this so it won't happen again.

I have replaced old White Rodgers thermostats for this reason many times.
You can check the R & C terminals and float switch if present.
