Compressor Fan spins a few seconds and the breaker blows.

Turn off power to the outdoor unit at your service disconnect...
Check the capacitors in the unit for a swollen top.
Check for melted wiring in the control panel.
Check the compressor terminals and crank case heater for melted wires.
Measure the capacitors, Measure the ohm reading of the condenser fan motor and the compressor.

Capacitor has hole in it.
Hi the capacitor has a hole in it and there is a waxy substance pooled at the bottom of the control box. I replaced the capacitor last year with a similar one that the distributor said was the same. So I'm hoping that's all it is. What do you think?
