Contactor Contacts Melted After 4 Months Use

Hello all, I'm wondering if I could get some assistance diagnosing and understanding why the contactor pads on a brand new part have melted / fused after only 4 months of use. I also replaced the capacitor at the same time with one of matching values. I've attempted to attache a couple pictures to illustrate how badly the pads are melted - it's like this on all 4 pads. Here is a link to the Ebay listing I purchased the contacor from for more info: Ebay Link. It is a Janitrol Goodman 2 pole standard for residential units from what I understand. I replaced an old contactor that was beginning to show signs of pitting and burning but was functioning properly prior to the replacement (just trying to do some preventative maintenance). Any assistance / advice on what may have caused this would be greatly appreciated (defective / poor quality part or maybe some other cause to overheat the contactor?). Thank you in advance!

Chad

Welcome to the forums.

It looks like the contactor is chattering. It needs to get pulled in smartly and then released.
