Amana Quiet Zone -removing chasses from outer case

I want to find out how many BTUs my air conditioner has- need to find the model number of my I believe 2000 portable Amana Quiet Zone AC. The only number I can see on the label without removing the chassis is the serial number. I called Amana and was told I need the model number to get information. I can't figure out how to remove the chassis from the outer case which I hope will reveal the model number.

I appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

Karen

If I find the manual, which is highly unlikely, will that have the model number on it?

The model number is not usually on the manual.

Doesn't that unit have a plastic plate/grill that snaps off the inside ? The filter would be behind it although you may not have to remove the plastic grille to change the filter.

The ID tag should be behind that plate.
