Evaporator only cold at the top

Hi I'm hoping one of the experts out there can help me on this one. I have an air con compressor supplying an evaporator in a cold room, there was a leak so fixed the leak and re gassed. Hi/Low pressure is fine in the system but the cold room is only dropping to approx 12c the evaporator is slightly sweaty with a little whiting at the top but it is very rainy/humid here at the moment seams like a starvation/circulation problem and am leaning towards a problem with the expansion valve, any ideas gratefully received.

Welcome to the forums.

Was the system evacuated before it was charged ?
Was a filter installed or replaced when the lineset was opened ?

Unfortunately we don't discuss pressures or the actual process of charging systems on this site.

Thanks for the reply no the system was not evacuated and no filter changed, the leak was on a brazed joint and was cleaned and re brazed without opening the system. Any ideas on the evaporator only being cold at the top?

We can not help with sealed system repair advice.
Because of the regulations relating to working with refrigerants you need to get a certified tech to check this for you.
