Drain A/C Condensate To French Drain

Forced air furnace with A/C coil. Is it OK to drain the condensate into a French drain? The perimeter of the basement has a French drain that leads to a well with sump pump.

It is always best to check to see what your local code is in regard to handling the condensate. It also depends on if it is a high-efficiency condensing furnace as the condensate is acidic. There is the possibility of the furnace condensate drain line freezing and causing a backup which will cause operational problems. If you have a nearby washing machine drain. lavatory or utility sink drain the condensate can be ran to those locations.
