Hello everyone. My AC unit is about 13-15 years old and never seems to stop running. I want to add a swamp cooler to replace my AC unit here in the next month or 2. First question, how do I select a unit? I need to have a side mount because my HOA does not allow a roof mount. I would need it to cool 2400-2500 living space. I was thinking that I can put the unit in the living room that has built in shelf's. Any tips on placement? I also have my HVAC system controlled by a Nest. I have read that the Nest will not control both AC and swamp at the same time. I was wondering if anyone knew if I could remove the AC from the Nest and have the swamp cooler replace the AC function. Good afternoon everyone, My name is Kevin. I have a carrier 2 ton r410 unit the model number on the air handler is fx4dnf025. It has an ECM motor in it. It is a fixed motor, I guess is what you call it. it has speed taps for selecting the speed. Is there a way to "aftermarketly" wire in a fan control, or by some other means, make it run as a variable speed motor? Trying to work on dehumidifying the house a bit more. thanks in advance, Kevin
