AC lineset install ?

Hi all,

I am currently installing central AC in my house. I am installing a 2 ton unit. I Will be doing the install and then hiring a contractor to braze all the lines and do startup/testing. I installed the pad and condensing unit outside and installed the coil in the ductwork above furnace. My question is running the lineset. I purchased the equipment from Carrier and they spec out the equipment and advised I needed a 3/8 and 3/4" line set. the run will be about 32'. First there condensing unit has a 3/8" and a 3/4" hookup. Now I see in the manual for their coil that the coil has a 3/8" and a 5/8" hookup. I am assuming the 3/4" will be reduced at the coil with a fitting so let me know thoughts on that. Second, is if the line set needs to be sloped at all. The outdoor condenser is about 1'-2' higher in elevation than the indoor coil. Starting at the coil I will be running under the floor joists for about 13' then I need to sweep 90 degrees and travel upward in the joist space to clear the top of block wall to go out side of house. Not sure if this would be an issue or not. It would be easy to add a downward slope towards the indoor unit but if it would need to slope towards the outdoor unit that will be an issue as I need to clear the block wall to go out the side of wall so there still would be an upward travel at some point. Thanks for the help.

Because you need to be licensed to do a/c work we do not offer advice on sealed system service or installation.
