New to Central Air questions.

Good Evening everyone,

We purchased a 2 story home and need to know some options for cooling the home down.
Some background on the home, all new windows, insulation, siding, sheetrock and roof. Complete redo.

We have no duct work in the home as we use water baseboard heat. We are looking to cool the downstairs area. The square foot of the downstairs is around 800 sqft. But its cut in half by an open stairwell between the living room and dining room going upstairs. So essentially 600 sq ft on each side of the staircase.

What are some suggestions other then a few window units? Don't they make thru the wall units and how many would i need and rough cost? Sorry for the newbie questions just trying to figure out our options.

Thanks...

Ductless mini-splits is the best solution but they are a bit pricey.
