Can't adjust temp on portable a/c
Using remote and the buttons on the unit , the temp goes down, blinks 4 times and goes right back up to room temp and stays there. Sounds like compressor is not kicking in, fan is running ok.
The displayed temperature is supposed to be the set temperature, and not the room temperature. LG LP1013WNR 1 year old
Just trying to figure out if there is an inexpensive fix. New a/c would cost $300-400. Thank you

Welcome to the forums.
As with most equipment like that.... the display shows room temperature. When you change set temperature the display temporarily shows your new setting and then after a few seconds..... goes back to room temperature.
It sounds like your problem is a compressor related problem. The most likely cause is the relay/control board.
These units aren't designed for user servicing but they can be. The unit would have to be disassembled for testing. You would need a VOM (meter) for checking. If you are handy and can use a meter I can walk you thru it. Let me know.
