Lenox single pole contactor 24V wiring question

I accidentally knocked wires off my contactor. I beleive its the 24V coil wires. One wire comes from the honeywell HZ311 panel equpment Y connection, the other comes from from the honeywell HZ311 panel Power C comection. Based on my research I assume these two wires are part of the 24V circuit. Does it matter which side of the coil on the contactor these connect to? I assume as long as one wire is connected to either side, it doesn't matter which side. Am I correct?
