Blower not working

Hi all. I'm Tyler.

About a week ago our air went out.
The condenser is only a few years old it's a ken more and air handler(?) is a alpine and it's a 06 model..

Okay we were sitting here and we smelled plastic burning and the air quit. Flipped the breaker for the handler. We got some old guy we know to come look at it. Said it's the motor he flipped it back on. Worked so he left. After about 2 hours same thing happened.

I know a year or so back a guy straight wired the fan, I think the relay went out, so it ran all the time.

We don't have much money so I've been asking some people I know for a motor.

If needed I can get model numbers and other info.
All I know is the original motor is a 3/4hp and a 110v

I've got a couple other motors but they are 3/8hp 110, 1/4hp 110, and a 1/2hp 220.

Seems like I'll have to save up and buy a new motor.

Is there any way to know if it's the capacitor or the motor? Any home test I can do?

You would need a multimeter.
We would need the complete model number.

It sounds like you need a control board as well as the motor or capacitor (or all 3).

A multimeter to measure capacitance, verify correct voltage, ohm the motor windings and check amperage could be had for ~ $60 at Home Depot.

The Klein CL200.

Capacitors are cheap also if you wanted to buy one to try. You will have movement on the motor shaft front to rear but shouldn't have any play from side to side. If it does the motor is bad. Just a couple easy tests without a meter. If you buy a cap make sure it is the correct one. Any supply store will have it.

Post Blower quits working

I have a similar problem with a Nordyne model Q3RD-042K. I turn on the unit, the fan comes on and after a few minutes the AC unit comes on. After another minute the fan goes off and does not come back on. I shut the whole thing down and start over, same process. Yes I have tried making a new thread but the icon does not appear anywhere for me.
