I have a rusted out pan in the indoor coil unit. It is a split system and sits on top of the heater. It is dripping all over now that the air conditioner is running and keeps flooding the basement. I had the plumber out and he is trying to sell me a complete system. I dont need a whole new system, the air conditioning system works great and keeps the house nice and cold. I am tired of having to empty the bucket that I have under the one corner where it leaks (the low spot) So while he was here I was watching and when he pulled the panel off and I could see the coils the pan under it was rusted out and there was water under the pan and around it. Cant I just replace that pan? why do I have to buy a whole new system. Where would I get a pan? Would I have to have one custom made. They want $3500 for a system when all I need is a rusty pan replaced. HELP

Can you get the old pan out ? In mostly 1 piece ?
Get all the data / numbers off of the furnace , coil and the housing the coil sets in .
Also , the condenser unit .
Post that information .
Do you have any paperwork that should have come with the system ?
God bless
