1968 FEDDERS Package unit replacement

Hello again to everyone: Our Air Conditioner is in the attic which looks like a giant
wall unit hooked up to the Return/supply and the Discharge. Electric motor has 2 cages hooked up. My Question: Do AC companies still make this arrangement?

Also, Would someone please tell me if the (2) 60 AMP CARTRIDGE FUSES are too high
of amperage. I am thinking more towards 35-40 AMP.

They are Time-Delay of course. I know it's time for a new one soon as the air out of the registers is somewhat cold, but not blowing strong at all. I will clean the EVAP coils and see what happens. The Filter was just changed.

Thanx for your help

I tried to add some pics/ my first attempt

Sure... package units are still available but that looks more like a split unit.

45 years is a pretty good run for a unit like that.

The size of your fuses is based on the wiring size and the ampacity listed on the ID plate on the unit.

Does the fan coil unit have electric resistance heat ? That is my guess . If you do , that is where the majority of the electricity will be required . The fan uses a much smaller amount of electricity , compared to electric heat .

I am guessing the condenser unit is outside at ground level ? Is it still OK ?

God bless
