I know these new high end units give you all of this info, but is there any systems out there that can be added? Don't need to be online or anything fancy, even something that just gives a live readout without data recording would be fine.

Don't know if any systems like this exist but I would think someone would create it, in a replacement breaker or maybe just something to put into the cut off box that reads power going past or amp draw.

They do sell energy monitors. Just connect it to your system ad they will record the enrgy used in a given time period

Probably better (albeit more expensive) is to purchase a thermostat which keeps a running performance log. I have the Honeywell prestige 2 IAQ which keeps an hourly/daily/weekly/monthly log of (among other things) the run time. I know the power draw of each stage of my system so I just multiply the amp draw by the run time of each stage, which the Honeywell records. I like the thermostat thing better because the performance logs are quite a bit more detailed;
