When they oversize an ac system it cools in short bursts and doesn't run long enough to remove the moisture. Not a pro on ac units, they will be along, but some will have a dehumidify mode.

Does yours run continuously or in short cycles?

Bud

By the way, welcome to the forum.

What? You have a UV filter in the return so the fan is running to keep air moving across it?

Short cycles mean the AC doesn't run long enough to remove humidity. As Bud said, classic symptom of an oversized system.

In addition to the oversized unit contributing to high humidity, leaving the fan (blower) running continuously will also. You have some water in your condensate pan. When the fan runs with compressor off, you're adding humidity by blowing air over a pan of water, similar to the way a humidifier works. I don't know how much humidity it will add, but I've read that it will add some.

Yes a uv filter in return was told to leave fan on to keep circulating air through filter. Setting to auto and will discuss the coil with the installer, he swears it's not oversized that the coil being bigger makes it more efficient. 😁 thx for all the help

seer makes the unit more efficient. Turn your blower to auto. This will lower your RH hopefully 8-12%
