I have a Forced Air(Gas) furnace for my second floor, it works well and cools all room except one which is above the Garage and is the largest room in my home(this room also has two vents). Vents in this room blows very light breeze as oppose to hard blown air in other room. The difference in distance between vent in this room vs other room is not that much. I regularly replace air filter and I have also checked that the vents are fully opened. Not sure where the problem is, would appreciate if someone can give some pointers troubleshooting this issue. Hi all. I'm Tyler. About a week ago our air went out. The condenser is only a few years old it's a ken more and air handler(?) is a alpine and it's a 06 model.. Okay we were sitting here and we smelled plastic burning and the air quit. Flipped the breaker for the handler. We got some old guy we know to come look at it. Said it's the motor he flipped it back on. Worked so he left. After about 2 hours same thing happened. I know a year or so back a guy straight wired the fan, I think the relay went out, so it ran all the time. We don't have much money so I've been asking some people I know for a motor. If needed I can get model numbers and other info. All I know is the original motor is a 3/4hp and a 110v I've got a couple other motors but they are 3/8hp 110, 1/4hp 110, and a 1/2hp 220. Seems like I'll have to save up and buy a new motor. Is there any way to know if it's the capacitor or the motor? Any home test I can do?
