It seems little loud now. Outside temperature is close to 100F. Capacitor dying or low refrigerant? Unit is 11 years old.

I'm not thinking it's cap or refrigerant. At 100* compressor is running at full load. I would check it tonight when cools down a little.

Does the suction line ( large copper pipe ) feel cold?

Oh ok. I will check it in the early morning and see how loud it is. Night also it is kind of warm. 90s.

How to identify the suction line? I will check both lines.

Checked the temperature on one of the vents and it was 59F (when almost 100 outside).

59F sounds like a good temperature. Check the temperature at the return vent. Then subtract 59F . That will give you the delta T. 15F to 20F is good.

Sound seems to be lot better when it is cool outside (like 80s in the morning). Not as sharp as when it is hot outside. It is more of a fan kind of noise.

There is only one return vent per floor. Will check the temperature and update. Upstairs room vent which is much closer to the unit seems more cooler (didnt check the temperature, but it is lot colder than the downstairs one which recorded 59F).

Update: the thermostat is very close to the return vent on downstairs and it was showing 81F at that time. So it is reducing it by 22F

Sounds like high pressure on the compressor. I cannot see the coils clearly but this can easily be caused by dirty condenser coils or an overcharged unit. Have you had some jack legs come out and put in some refrigerant lately???????? Try this little experiment. Get your garden hose out and and give the coil a really good thorough soaking down while it is running. If the noise basically goes away then you know you have a over pressure issue and the compressor life is being shortened each time you run the system. CLEAN THOSE COILS
