Window A/C - cord too short

Can someone please help me? The first picture is of an air conditioner plug. I need it to fit into a standard extension cord so it will fit in the socket in the second picture. I cannot find a converter to match the plug, or an extension cord that mtaches...the prongs are reversed from a typical "t" amp. Any solutions?

Denise, both the plug and socket you showed are for 240V power. The plug is a NEMA 6-20P (250V, 20A), while the socket is a NEMA 6-20R (250V, 20A). I don't know how long of an extension cord you need, however here is a 10ft cord, and they have longer cords as well:

A extension cord is not the best solution, that cap should fit into that receptacle you show in the second picture.

Geo... the cap will fit the shown receptacle but the cord is too short.
I agree... an extension cord is not usually recommended but the one in the link is an HD one and should be fine for the application. Use a short as possible extension.
