Hey All, I have been running a rheem 2.5 ton heat pump and rheem air handler is a 3 ton. This system is a 2004 and still running. I bought the house a year ago and im trying to make it most efficient. For a long time the heat pump runs almost all day here in Fla. The temp difference of supplied air is only 10-12 degrees. The pressures on it were 75psi Low / 175 psi Hi. The super heat and subcool temps were a few degrees off. I knew the coil must of been dirty so I hired someone to come and they pulled the coil and cleaned the blower and cleaned the air handler. Still the pressures were off. They said it was prob bad unit from being old. I had a 3 ton rheem unit avail (older model also matching for air handler) and had them install it. It had the same pressures!! They even installed it with a TXV valve? What is going on? Now I think its worse and the pressures are same and low side temp reads 45 and hi reads 90. So my superheat is 0 and subcool is 7? Is this thing going to burst? Sounds really loud?

Good Afternoon all you geniuses of the world. I am literally a dummy when it comes to this sort of thing but I was reading some of the posts. trying to understand how the wires are ran and what they do. Ok I want to first say thank you for being on this site and being available to help little ladies like me who haven't the slightest idea what to do. I have a carrier system thermostat, the condenser and air handler. The thermostat itself has no batteries as I can see when i remove the panel. It went out a couple of weeks ago and i had no a/c. A friend came by and said it was a loose wire and it came back up for a week or two. It went out again and I have flipped the main switch to see if it would come back on. Is it possible to help me trouble shoot with me knowing so little?:confused:
