Outdoor air conditioner wiring.

Hi, I need help

My puppy ripped one of thin wires right out of my AC unit.
Looks like it was just yanked out with force and not chewed through, so I opened up the AC and looked inside but now i'm confused.

Inside was 2 black wires with 2 little orange cap things.
The wire that was pulled out has many colors and I don't know where they go.
(light blue, yellow, brown, green, red, white, black, orange)

I looked all over the internet and but was unable to find any useful information related to my situation. (Maybe i'm not searching the right words)

So thats my problem, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Welcome to the forums.

Only two wires are needed to run the condensor but a larger cable was run for future expansion.
You should see 2 stripped wires in that bundle that had been previously used. If not you will need to go to the air handler inside and see which colored wires from that cable are connected to the Y and C terminals on the wiring panel.

You could take a picture of that wiring and post it here if it's confusing.
