A/C problem with outside fan

So I am having issues with the fan outside staying running.

I have replaced the fan, condenser and contactor.

It runs for a days sometimes weeks and then goes out. I have to go outside and tap the unit to get it running again. Sometimes it will stay running other times it just stops a min later.

I spoke to an ac guy (one of my customers at work) and he said it will have to be acting up to really trouble shoot it.

What else could it be? I have checked all the connections and they are tight.

I don't get it please help.

It sounds like you need a new run capacitor.

Each motor will usually have a capacitor.
A dual capacitor is often used for the (PSC) condenser fan motor and the compressor.

The compressor will often have an additional start capacitor. (CSR)

What is the make and model of this unit?
If it is a package unit you will also have a capacitor on the blower motor.

It has all new capacitors on it. Could one be bad out of the box? Will get make and model when I get home.

Thanks for your reply!

I would verify that we do not have any loose connections and measure the high and low voltage when this problem occurs.
I also recommend getting a multimeter to measure the capacitance.

Posting the make and model might allow us to view the connection diagram.
