Inside fan blower fails to start occasionally.

Everything will operate as it should but occasionally the fan will fail to start. If I turn it off reach in and spin the fan then turn it back on it'll run fine for a few cycles. So I ran down and pick up a matching capacitor installed it and it started as it should all day. about 8 hours later the ac attempted to start but the fan just hummed, so I turned it off spun the fan turned it back on and everything ran fine again.

It's never stopped while running and it will start ok 3 or 4 times before failing to start. The fan spins freely.... What should I look at next?

Welcome to the forums.

If the capacitor failed to fix the problem then it looks like a motor replacement is in your future. As the motor heats up the bearings start to bind. The motors are permanently lubricated and can't be lubricated again.

Well poo, the ac was off for 2 days and I went in this evening to turn it on the humming started. Spun the fan and off she went. Could I have the wrong size capacitor?

I guess you could have the wrong sized cap. Did you match the new to the old ?
It can be a higher voltage but the mfd rating must be the same.

I matched it. Guess I need to figure out what fan will fit in there and order one. Thanks for the help.
