How do you tell your thermostat to turn OFF ac when not home? Honeywell Prestige

I have the Honeywell Prestige and when I set the scheduler for the "Leave home" period, I set the Heat @ 76 and Cool @ 79. This schedule doesn't work and the AC is still running when I'm not home.

Are my temperature set up incorrectly?

You can set the heat to 60 degrees and the AC to 90 degrees to insure that it is off. I wouldn't set the AC above 79 degrees.

Sounds like you have the stat set for auto changeover.... heating/cooling.
Like Houston pointed out.... the gap you've set is too narrow.
Do you really need to set a heating point in the summer.... especially in Texas?
