Welcome to the forums.

Pictures, wiring diagrams and the like would be very helpful. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/electrical-ac-dc/534445-how-insert-pictures.html

Your old motor has three wires going to it..... neutral, run and start. The start capacitor is on the A/C condensor. Your new motor will not use the old capacitor which means you will only be using two of those wires.

Your new motor may be multi speed. It more than likely has two independent capacitor wires that would connect to the new capacitor you are installing with the new motor. It may have reversing wires.

The make and model number might help us bring up your manual.

Blower motors often have 6 wires and condenser fan motors often have 3.

Some universal multi horsepower condenser fan motors have 6 wires.
