Will using only one zone of dual zone system cause damage?

I've got a dual zone system in my 2 story house with 2 units and 2 thermostats. My downstairs unit is acting up. Will using just my upstairs unit for a few days until I can get a repairman in damage the unit? I realize it'll work harder and I've adjusted my upstairs temp up a few degrees to try to help out. I just don't want to cause a bigger problem down the line. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums.

You can run just the upstairs unit. You aren't going to hurt it.
One good thing is the cool air it produces will travel downstairs helping cool the lower area.

You have a two story house with two systems. Not a 2 zone system. A 2 zone system would be one system with 1 stat on each floor.
