Blower fan runs continuosly

I have a Payne model ph3zna036000aa and the blower fan won't turn off. I replaced the fan last year and it has been cycling off and on just fine through the winter with the heat and when I first switched to air this spring. Had the thermostat in the off position one day while I was at work and we had a thunderstorm during the day, and when I got home the blower fan was running and now I can't get it to turn off without turning the breaker off

Try removing the thermostat and see if the fan turns off. If your thermostat doesn't use a mounting plate (for easy removal), just remove the wire from the G terminal on the thermosta. It's a longshot, but it's possible that lightning zapped the thermostat. If the fan still runs with the thermostat removed, in all likelihood the lightning damaged the control board in the air handler/furnace.
