Seal A/C Line Set Penetration

Can I get some opinions on what's the "proper" or best way to seal up the hole where the line set penetrates the side of the house? Right now it's got putty (Thumb Gum) packed around it, but it's old and nasty. I could get fresh Thumb Gum, but it's not the prettiest solution. I've seen people advising to caulk with 100% silicone, and I think that would probably be the cleanest looking. So I pretty much decided to use almond color silicone that will match the siding.

But along with the a/c lines, there is the power cabling and ground wire going through the hole, and the more I think about it, do I want to be encasing all that together in silicone?

So, even if it's not the proper or best way, is there any danger (electrical or otherwise) in doing this? Is the silicone going to be a real pain to remove/dig out if I need to for any reason?

Silicone is fine. Yes, it's a pain to remove if needed, but doable.

You can also use can foam, wait for it to set, cut it off flush, and paint to match the siding. The foam will have a rougher texture than the silicone.

OK, well, I guess it's unanimous. Thanks for the response!
