P trap on Fujitsu ductless mini split

I have Fujitsu Dustless Mini Split system installed in the attic, and the drain line is routed to the waste gas line vent pipe without the P trap. I have asked around most of installers stated that it does not require a P trap. My attic does not have smell of sewer, but just want to make sure that if P trap is required.

Curios why they put it in the attic ? I would be more concerned why it is draining into a vent pipe. Sounds like a bad idea to me.

Agreed.

Above the last draining device, like the sink, is a vent line only. It is not used for water drainage.

How can you have a ductless in the attic.... or is this a finished attic that is being cooled ?
The condensate line for that type of unit is supposed to follow the refrigerant lines and drain water outside.

In the end.... yes... you have to use a trap at that point to keep the air handler from bringing any fumes into the unit from the vent line.
