My Trane C/A system -age 17 or so - has gone South again. Had it looked at last year, Tech's sniffer did not find a leak, so deciding it was a small/slow leak, had it recharged with R-22. Oops, that "fix" only worked for a year. Since R-22 is running even higher than last year, I;m thinking whether it pays to find & repair the leak --if it's somewhere fixable -- and then recharge with a "[B]drop-in[/B]" r22 replacement like [B][FONT=book antiqua]Freon MO99[/FONT][/B] which is supposedly compatible with existing oil, etc., etc. Anyone with experience with MO99 or other drop in refrigerants Alternatively -- new system.

Hello All, We have our thermostat set to 72 but noticed the current temp is 75. It says that it's cooling and the air conditioner condenser outside is running, but nothing is blowing through the vents. I checked the filter and . . there isn't one :wall: [ATTACH]82658[/ATTACH] There is ice around the coil and I believe the evaporator coil is frozen. [ATTACH]82659[/ATTACH] I am only getting a solid red which that supposed means the control has 24VAC power. I checked Red/Green at the thermostat and am getting 24V as well. [ATTACH]82660[/ATTACH] [ATTACH]82661[/ATTACH] The AC evaporator coil is a PT4842-C175 [ATTACH]82662[/ATTACH] The water trap has gunk, but I don't see any overflowing water anywhere. [ATTACH]82663[/ATTACH] Can someone please advise what my next steps should be?
