mini-split does not cool when indoor humidity is to low?

I have a BMKH18-15YN4GA installed in my 440sq studio. The indoor humidity was to high this winter (many times over 70%) so we got a stand alone dehumidifier and kept the humidity around 40%. With the humidity around 40% the mini split would not make cold air(fan would turn on), when changed to heat mode it would work. Last week I tested by turning off the dehumidifier and letting the humidity get around 55%, then turned on the AC and it worked.

So my question does it make sense that mini-split has a min indoor humidity over 50% before it will still cool?

Humidity should not be an issue. Outside temp could be if it was to cold.

Outside temp was like 50-60F if I remember right when it was not cooling.

Are you sure it was in AC mode and not DRY mode? Since DRY mode is to dehumidify, It may have a low limit setting.

From the manual:
When selecting dry mode, the air handler will run in air conditioning, but with a low fan sped to remove excess humidity. In dry mode, the fan speed cannot be adjusted....Fan speed cannot be adjusted under Dry Mod

The operating temperature range (Outdoor Temperature)....... for cooling is 64.4 F ~109.4 F and for heating is 19.4 F ~ 75 F.

That means the unit won't go into cooling mode unless the outside temperature is at least 65f.
