Ac messed up
I am stumped. What would cause an ac unit to shut down about 1 in the afternoon and come back on around 8pm.

Power company may have a load shed device on the unit.
Other then that possibly a thermostat program.
You’ll have to get your meter out and start testing. You’ve not really given any technical data to make anything more then a wild guess.

Hi head pressure caused by a dirty outdoor coil.
Wash out the coil with a water hose. Be careful not to bend the fins.
Do not use a pressure washer.
